Buddhist Tour of Andhra - 2

ay 01 Arrive into Vishakapatnam in the morning and check into hotel, after lunch proceed to Bheemli, which had been a Dutch settlement in 1861 A.D. Visit to fort and cemetery built in 17th century. Overnight at hotel, Vishakapatnam.

ay 02 Full day visit to Bavikonda and Thotlakonda, with religious structures, stupas, chaityagrihas, the congregation hall, platforms, viharas are found here. Shankaram, here are three chiatyas at three different places carved out on the rock hills, life size statue of Buddha is an attraction of this place. Overnight at hotel, Vishakapatnam (150 kms/full day).

ay 03 Proceed to Vijayawada, enroute Rajamundry and check into hotel. Overnight at hotel, Vijayawada (400 kms/8 hrs).

ay 04 Proceed to Amaravathi, visit country's largest stupa constructed by Acharya Nagarjuna, a Buddhist Monk, of 2000 years back and a Museum, displaying the Buddhist excavations. Overnight at hotel, Vijayawada (150 kms/ full day trip).

ay 05 Morning transfer to proceed to Chennai by train.
