Kuchipudi Dance

The small village situated 60 km from Vijayawada city in Krishna district was where the abode of Siddhendra Yogi was. It was he who developed the Kuchipudi form of classical dance, which combines music, verse, dance and drama and is based on religious themes. Telugu lyrics interspersed with Sanskrit verse give it a distinguishing flavour and narrative interludes make it easy to understand and thus popular. A Kuchipudi dance training school is being run in the village. Local transport is available to Kuchipudi from Vijayawada and buses too run frequently.
